CoachAmerica is prepared to offer people a more formal program of financial education without the need to attend a conventional education institution.

According to the National Endowment for Financial Education in April 2006, figures show that despite an abundance of resources available to help consumers learn how to achieve financial security, statistics such as a national savings rate near zero, national consumer debt over $2 trillion and 1.6 million bankruptcy filings in 2004, indicate that many people aren’t using this information to their benefit by taking the necessary action that would improve their financial health.

Ted Beck, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Endowment for Financial Education said in an address before the Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit of the United States House of Representatives in September 2006,

". . . that the need for financial literacy now is greater than ever before. This is because the responsibility for financial security has been transferred, for the most part, from institutions to individual Americans. The burden of carrying such responsibility has been incurred within a relatively short time frame, causing concern, frustration, even fear, among members of the public. Yet, we also believe that consumers, regardless of their education background or income level, are up to the task of assuming responsibility for their financial well-being—if they are given appropriate education, the necessary tools, and ongoing reinforcement."

Financial education grows in proportion to the realization that big business will no longer meet the financial advisement needs of its employees. New and more innovative financial education programs are developed to refine the information that is being taught to students.

We open the eyes of our students to new and better ways to think and act about money.

We provide affordable, comprehensive and effective coaching programs for our students. Our work is based on the individual needs of our student, combined with the ethics and professionalism to which every student is entitled. Our goal is, simply, the success of the students. Our ethics are never negotiable!

We provide backup support via phone and email for the students between sessions. While the sessions are largely student-directed within our curriculum, specific topics covered have included understanding and changing rates on credit cards, understanding and positively influencing credit scores, debt reduction plans, tax strategies using the services of a certified tax professional, cash flow, creative thinking, behavioral choices and starting a home-based business. We also train the student in, and monitor their on-going use of, financial management software.
